Into the Woods (Cel animation)

Into The Woods- this stunning piece of animation is 100% 2D, even though it achieves some 3D elements. The program used to make this music video is called ToonBoom Animate Pro (2) and it uses multiple layers to achieve depth of felled effect. Into the woods was directed and animated by Adan Phillips who is a freelance animator and tutor.

The program ToonBoom Animate Pro is NOT a 3D application even though some animations made in this program has a 3D element or appearance , but is more closer to the traditional animation technique know as cel animation because its all made using layers.

 I enjoy the characters design and their animation, mainly the when the fox appears out from the shadows and circles the girl. Keeling in mind it’s a 2D layered animation and this turn around part achieved a stunning 3D effect.
