Rotoscoping

Rotoscoping is yet another animating technique, But with this technique the animators would trace over live footage frame by frame. The final traced frames would then be used for as an additional effect in live action films like Tron maybe, and also in a more realistic animation. There are multiple ways of rotoscoping, both hand on or computer based, both ways will give you the same overall effect. Rotoscoping would be used to add effects or remove something out of a shot. Films such as ‘Star Wars’ use rotoscoping to create the glow effect for the lightsaber and blasters.
