Since reading “hybrid Animation: Integrating 2D and 3D assets” and after having a quick chat with my tutors it was decides it would be a cool idea to integrate 2D traditional animation with 3D animation, and the essay itself became more focused on the development of animation and how its “art” form changed from its traditional form to its current 3d CGI form.
So the new idea for the practical is to have a single
character that experiences a kind of reality shift (much like in one of The
Simpsons episodes where Homer finds a portal in the wall and ends up being 3D computer generated), in the animation the character would start off as a 2D traditionally drawn character that moves into a 2D CGI environment, in here the
character would ‘try’ to interact with some of the environment but ends up
‘falling’ into a another world, this one will be 3d modelled (two versions, a
simple Toon version, and a higher detailed version) in these two worlds the
character would meet its double. From here the character will finally find
itself in the real world.
This idea sounds good, but with the time ticking away it may
be too ambitious…
